A little about me...

My first experience of birth was when I was 13 years old. I attended the birth of my cousin with her first child. My mother and I were her support team. I remember watching her work through each contraction and though she was in pain, my 13 year old mind knew that what she was experiencing was very normal and I was not afraid. It was peaceful, it was messy, it was beautiful. When her baby girl came out and was being cleaned up on the table under the light, I stood there staring at this tiny little miracle in awe--believing I had truly just witnessed something Divine.

I was in love. In love with the baby yes, but in love with birth itself. After that I attended the birth of her second child and years later the birth of my best friend's daughter. My whole life I have been drawn to any book, movie, or tv show about birth and any chance I get to sit across from a mama and hear her birth story is a good day! I have yet to experience birth myself, but oh how I love to support the women who do!

The heart of most opportunities and roles I have experienced in the past, has been emotionally, spiritually and practically supporting women. I love women. I love being a woman. And I love being a part of the womanly journey.

Here are some of my highlighted trainings and experiences that have shaped who I am:
